Overview
As a young man, Tadeusz left his sweetheart and family behind to fight for the Republican Army in the Spanish Civil War. When the war was lost and fascism spread across Europe, it became too dangerous for a Jewish communist to return, so he fled to Buenos Aires, where he worked underground—literally—helping build the city’s subway tunnels. Now, refusing the pills he believes are stealing his clarity and strength, Tadeusz finds his past blurring into the present. Knowing his final journey may be near, he reconnects with long-lost lovers from his youth, aided by an eccentric circle of devoted friends and neighbors. A sharply observed character study of a quixotic life coming full circle in its bittersweet final chapter.
