Overview

In a decaying 19th-century Japanese boardinghouse, a mysterious elder and a fading performer find themselves entangled in a passion that spirals into bloodshed. When the unscrupulous thief Sutekichi abandons his secret liaison with the landlady, Osugi, to pursue her youthful sister, Okayo, Osugi retaliates by confessing her betrayal to her enraged husband, igniting a storm of jealousy and violence.
