John Joseph "Jack" Nicholson, born on April 22, 1937, is a distinguished American actor, director, producer, and writer, celebrated for his compelling portrayals of complex and often troubled characters. Over the course of his illustrious career, Nicholson has garnered an impressive 12 Academy Award nominations, securing wins for Best Actor in *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest* and *As Good as It Gets*, as well as Best Supporting Actor for *Terms of Endearment*. His three Oscar victories place him in a tie with Walter Brennan for the most wins by a male actor, while he ranks just behind Katharine Hepburn, who holds four.
