Ballykissangel S01E01 - Trying to Connect You

Episode Overview

Father Peter Clifford arrives in the quaint Irish town of Ballykissangel after leaving his post in bustling Manchester. Expecting a tranquil village life, he quickly realizes that this community is anything but quiet. Assumpta Fitzgerald, the local pub owner, is taken aback when she learns that the man she gave a ride to is the new curate, harboring a strong skepticism toward the clergy. Meanwhile, Niamh is eager to understand what married life with her boyfriend, the local Garda, will entail. She insists on living together before marriage, but he hesitates, fearing a "mortal sin." Both turn to Father Clifford for guidance as he arrives just in time for the delivery of a modern confessional, a donation from Niamh's father, Brian Quigley, who believes the fax-equipped unit will enhance the church.
