Episode Overview
On Valentine's Day, Naomi is feeling neglected, and Vint's attempts to cheer her up with inexpensive gifts only deepen her disappointment. Meanwhile, Mama and Iola are busy crafting hearts for the church's Valentine's banquet. Naomi starts teasing Iola about being dateless, prompting Iola to claim she had an offer but declined it. Mama, overhearing this while grabbing snacks, feels sympathetic and suggests to Iola that she should seek a date, even fabricating a story about having one herself. Later, Iola tells Thelma that Roselle secured a date through "Rent-A-Gent," leading a desperate Thelma to call the service for her own date.
