Overview

In 2029 Japan, fully cybernetic Motoko Kusanagi dreams of a unit that neutralizes dangers before they erupt. Aramaki recruits her and her crew to form Public Security Section 9, the "Shell Squad." A shadowy international plot points to a hacker called the Puppet Master. What destiny lies ahead for Kusanagi? What is the ghost in the machine after? A fresh wave of cyberpunk thrill rides begins.
