Episode Overview

In the year 1215, at the castle of Ranulf Fitzwilliam, young Hugh is engaged in a joust to defend his honor against Sir Gillis Estram, the esteemed champion of King John. Suddenly, the TARDIS materializes, and the Doctor, Turlough, and Tegan are greeted as demons and received with surprising warmth by the King. The Doctor senses that something is amiss in this strange welcoming.
