Kenny returns home from the hospital feeling a bit irritable and overwhelmed. Despite Teri's willingness to help care for him and the kids, he insists he doesn't require a babysitter. Meanwhile, Maxine, stepping in for Kenny, trusts that Lila, his assistant, has everything under control. Teri suggests hiring a nanny, leading to a disagreement with Maxine. Bird's bladder issues improve, but she feels distant from Lem. Ahmad experiences his first kiss with both his girlfriend Keisha and his friend Callie. Meanwhile, Damon struggles with guilt over the accident, which strains his relationship with Teri.
