Before she can press for answers, Tousetsu, a court lady from the Kou clan, bursts in with a chilling warning: “Reirin’s” life is at risk. Eager to protect that person, Reirin offers her help, but Gyoumei coldly rejects her, citing distrust. Yet Empress Kou Kenshuu intervenes, proposing a test of sincerity—Reirin may tend to the endangered one only if she draws the Bow of Warding throughout the entire night.
