Episode Overview

Steve Thomas helps carpenter Charlie Silva carefully jack up the second floor, inch by inch. General contractor Tom Silva then reinforces the damaged floor joists by gluing and bolting LVLs into place. Plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey arrives to drain the heating system and disconnect the old radiators. In the kitchen, homeowner Kim Whittemore and a friend dismantle the chimney, removing bricks one by one. The next day, unwanted trees are taken down from the top, chain-sawed into sections and lifted piece by piece out of the backyard by a large crane.
