S01E04 They Sell Horses, Don't They?
Episode Overview
While cleaning out Gwen's old clothes, Terry discovers a receipt for a share in a racehorse named Living Large—a purchase Gwen had completely forgotten about. Terry pushes to sell the horse and invest the cash in their business, but Gwen, ever the dreamer, wants to keep the mare despite her three-year losing streak. They compromise: if Living Large loses her next race, Gwen will sell. Meanwhile, Danny stumbles upon the number of basketball star Karl Malone in Gwen's belongings. When he calls, he's stunned to learn Malone knows his play, "A Stork in Winter," and is even a writer himself, promising to send Danny a screenplay for feedback. At the track, everyone gathers to watch Living Large run. Terry insists she won't bet, but her resolve crumbles, and she ends up winning multiple races in a row, pocketing a tidy sum.
