Chimney specialist Mark Schaub meets host Steve Thomas in the Winchester living room, using a diagnostic "fluecam" to pinpoint why the chimney is smoking. In the kitchen, general contractor Tom Silva demonstrates to master carpenter Norm Abram and Steve how he reinforced the kitchen addition’s framing with engineered lumber and steel. Recalling the cantilevered second floor’s challenges, Steve explores the famous cantilever at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, currently undergoing major renovation. Back at the project house, Steve joins Tom and Norm to help build the deck structure for the new sun porch.
