Meanwhile, Guppy uncovers a shocking secret about Esther, leaving Lady Dedlock utterly shaken. In an act of compassion, Esther and Jarndyce take Jo, the ill crossing sweeper who is fleeing from Tulkinghorn’s enforcers, into their care. However, their generosity leads to an unforeseen twist.
