Overview

A weekend at a hotel on Portugal’s northern coast draws three families into quiet collision. One husband struggles to balance devotion to his wife against the shadow his mother casts between them. Elsewhere, a mother nudges her daughter toward marriage—not for her child’s sake, but to secure her own affair with the son-in-law. And another mother smothers her daughter by living vicariously through her, stifling every independent choice. All three families reach the limits of what they can accept.
