Overview

Orpheus, a penniless musician, and Eurydice, a woman worn down by hardship, fall for each other in a grim, struggling world. Desperate and tempted by promises of security, Eurydice follows Hades into his industrial underworld, Hadestown. Refusing to accept her fate, Orpheus journeys into the darkness, armed only with his song, to bring her back—a quest that intertwines with the fractured marriage of Hades and Persephone.
