In the documentary *Summer 82 – When Zappa Came to Sicily*, filmmaker and devoted fan Salvo Cuccia digs into the untold story of Frank Zappa’s ill-fated Palermo concert, the final stop of a European tour that unraveled into chaos and police crackdowns. Cuccia held a ticket but never got inside. Decades later, with cooperation from Zappa’s family, he pieces together that turbulent night using rare footage, photos, and recollections from relatives, bandmates, and audience members, plus commentary from Zappa’s friend and biographer Massimo Bassoli. Woven throughout is Cuccia’s own nostalgic reflection on that life-changing summer.
