Joe Moran finds himself imprisoned in Germany after assaulting a colonel during the Korean War. Inside, he reunites with his former commander, Captain Ross, who is serving time for black market dealings. Together with Ross's associates, Joe plans an escape that goes awry, resulting in a policeman's death. Horrified, he flees alone, leaving the others behind to be captured. Years later, while running a boat rental business, Joe is confronted by Ross, now a notorious drug smuggler. To secure Joe’s compliance for his illicit activities, Ross kidnaps his wife and daughter, plunging Joe back into a life of danger.
