In a bustling Tel Aviv apartment building, an array of colorful and troubled residents finds themselves unable to escape each other's lives. Gabi, a flirtatious woman with a bobbed haircut, is engaged in a clandestine affair with Hezi, her older, balding, and married lover, as they rent a room for their rendezvous. Meanwhile, Ezra, a pot-bellied divorcee, oversees a shady construction site next door. The constant noise pushes Schwartz, a Holocaust survivor, to the brink of insanity. Among others are illegal Chinese immigrants, a teenager fearful of military service, and a crooked police detective.
