Rape and Death of a Housewife

Overview

Three boys, fueled by cheap liquor, assault Emiko, the wife of a man they had grown close to. The shock of the violence proves too much for her heart, and she dies in the middle of the attack. Her husband, a poultry farmer shattered by the loss, cannot reconcile with reality. He insists on treating her body as if she were still breathing, dressing her, talking to her, and refusing to acknowledge the finality of what has happened.
