In 2nd Century Smyrna, a young slave named Anna finds refuge and a new life with a group of Christians, led by the wise Bishop Polycarp. As she learns from him and her newfound family, Anna grapples with her beliefs and the Christian faith. When the Roman proconsul orders citizens to worship Caesar, Polycarp and the Christians face increasing persecution.
