Overview

Jean carries the weight of her family on her shoulders, fiercely shielding her teens, Tamika and Tristin, while reluctantly sharing a cramped Lawrence Heights apartment with her own mother. Though the kids are steadily finding their footing, Jean remains trapped in old wounds, blind to their growth. Haunted by violence that echoes from both past and present, she struggles to guide them through their own pain. Through layered soundscapes and vivid flashbacks, Chapman paints an intimate portrait of Jean, exposing the generational burdens that shape the women in her family.
