The Herd

Overview

A peasant family, caught up in a local blood feud, resolves to sell its sheep—their most treasured possession—in distant Ankara. On the long train journey, they must grease the palms of minor officials, the animals are either stolen or perish in the crowded, stifling cars, and the ailing wife of one of the sons falls gravely ill.
