Overview

In 1911, Charles Saganne, a headstrong peasant with fierce ambition, enlists in the army and is dispatched to the Sahara. There, he serves under the noble and rigid Colonel Dubreuilh, whose aristocratic bearing clashes with Saganne’s unyielding pride. As Saganne navigates the harsh desert and military hierarchy, his determination is tested, setting the stage for a struggle between class, honor, and personal resolve.
