Biography
Ward Wood was a notable American actor and television writer, recognized primarily for his role as police Lieutenant Art Malcolm on the iconic series "Mannix," which aired from 1968 to 1975. Born in Los Angeles, California, Wood's journey into the entertainment industry began in 1943. However, he paused his burgeoning career to serve in the Marine Corps during World War II, motivated to honor his late brother Charles, who had also been an actor and Marine, and tragically lost his life in the Pacific Theater.
Following his military service, Wood resumed his acting career in 1947 and remained a prominent figure in the industry until the early 1980s.
