Biography
Jung Ji-hoon, widely recognized by his stage name Rain, is a multifaceted talent hailing from South Korea, excelling as a singer-songwriter, actor, and music producer. His acting journey commenced in 2003 when he garnered the KBS Best New Actor award for his performance in the drama "Sang Doo! Let's Go To School." The following year, his portrayal in "Full House" earned him the KBS Excellence in Acting award, solidifying his status in the entertainment industry.
In 2006, Rain made his cinematic debut with "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," a film that received the prestigious Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. His international appeal grew with roles in American films, including "Speed Racer" (2008) and "Ninja Assassin" (2009). Notably, he became the first Korean artist to receive an MTV award for his role in "Ninja Assassin."
Rain continued to expand his filmography with the Korean movie "R2B: Return to Base," released in August 2012. In a significant career move, he established his own record label, J. Tune Entertainment, in 2007, after departing from JYP Entertainment. With numerous achievements across music and film, Rain remains a prominent figure in the global entertainment landscape.
