Biography

Peter Geoffrey Brock AM (February 26, 1945 – September 8, 2006) was a legendary Australian motor racing icon, affectionately referred to as "Peter Perfect," "The King of the Mountain," and "Brocky." Over an illustrious career spanning nearly four decades, Brock became synonymous with Holden, although he also showcased his talents in vehicles from brands such as BMW, Ford, Volvo, Porsche, and Peugeot.

Brock's racing prowess was most notably displayed at the Bathurst 1000, where he triumphed an impressive nine times, solidifying his status as one of the sport's greats. In addition to his Bathurst victories, he claimed the Sandown 500 touring car race also nine times and secured the Australian Touring Car Championship three times. His versatility extended to endurance racing, where he won the Bathurst 24 Hour once.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions to motorsport, Brock was inducted into the V8 Supercars Hall of Fame in 2001. Beyond racing, he ventured into business with the creation of the Holden Dealer Team (HDT), which not only developed his competitive racing cars but also produced a line of modified high-performance road vehicles. Peter Brock's legacy continues to inspire future generations of motorsport enthusiasts, marking him as an enduring figure in Australian sporting history.
