Michael Anthony Sobolewski, born on June 20, 1954, is a renowned American musician best known for his role as the bassist and backing vocalist for the iconic hard rock group Van Halen, where he made his mark from 1974 until 2006. During his tenure, he contributed to the band's first eleven albums, establishing himself as their longest-serving bassist.
Following his exit from Van Halen, which was marked by a significant impact on the rock music scene, Anthony joined forces with his former bandmate Sammy Hagar, forming the supergroups Chickenfoot and Sammy Hagar and the Circle. These collaborations showcased his versatility and continued influence in the music industry.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Anthony has successfully ventured into the culinary world with his line of hot sauces, branded as Mad Anthony, which has garnered a loyal following among fans and food enthusiasts alike.
