Roy Kinnear
Biography
Roy Mitchell Kinnear (January 8, 1934 – September 20, 1988) was a celebrated English character actor and comedian, renowned for his distinctive roles in film and television. Kinnear gained widespread recognition for his performance as Henry Salt in the beloved 1971 movie "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory." He showcased his talent alongside The Beatles in the 1965 film "Help!" as Algernon, and delivered memorable performances in "How I Won the War" (1967) as Clapper and as Planchet in the 1973 adaptation of "The Three Musketeers." Kinnear's portrayal of Planchet was so iconic that he reprised this role in both the 1974 sequel and the 1989 continuation of the series. Tragically, his life was cut short when he passed away due to an accident while filming the latter project. Kinnear's legacy endures through his timeless performances, which continue to resonate with audiences today.
