Tim Matheson, born Timothy Lewis Matthieson on December 31, 1947, is a versatile American actor, director, and producer whose career spans several decades. He gained widespread fame for his iconic role as the charismatic Eric 'Otter' Stratton in the cult classic comedy *Animal House*, released in 1978. Beyond this breakout performance, Matheson has showcased his talent in various notable roles, including Vernon 'Doc' Mullins in Netflix's hit series *Virgin River* and Henry Kaslan in the 2019 reimagining of *Child's Play*. He also played Dr. Brick Breeland in the CW series *Hart of Dixie*, Vance Wilder Sr. in *National Lampoon's Van Wilder*, and John Hoynes on the critically acclaimed series *The West Wing*. His extensive filmography includes performances in *Black Sheep*, *Fletch*, *Magnum Force*, and *Yours, Mine & Ours* (1968), among others.
