E. Roger Mitchell
Biography
E. Roger Mitchell, hailing from Miami, Florida, is an accomplished actor with a rich educational background. He graduated from Claflin University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Drama, during which he earned recognition in the Who's Who Among America's Colleges and Universities in 1992. Following his undergraduate studies, Mitchell pursued further training at the Alliance Theatre Professional Actor Internship before obtaining a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from CUNY Brooklyn in 1999.
Currently, Mitchell is captivating audiences in the Horizon Theatre's world premiere of "Sheddin'." His recent performances include "Flying West" at Theatre in the Square and "The Green Book" at Theatrical Outfit, also a world premiere. His extensive resume features notable works such as August Wilson's "Jitney," "Gem of the Ocean," and "Cuttin' Up" at the acclaimed Alliance Theatre, recognized with the 2007 Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre Company. He has also starred in "A Confederacy of Dunces" and Cormac McCarthy's "The Sunset Limited," the latter earning him the Suzi Award for Best Lead Actor in 2010. Other highlights of his career include "Miss Evers Boys" and "Ceremonies In Dark Old Men" at Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre, as well as "A Cool Drink of Water" at Horizon Theatre. Mitchell's dedication to his craft has made him a distinguished figure in the theater community.
