Dandy Nichols, born on May 21, 1907, and passing away on February 6, 1986, was a prominent English actress celebrated for her portrayal of Else Garnett, the resilient spouse of the bigoted and misogynistic Alf Garnett in the iconic BBC sitcom *Till Death Us Do Part*.
Nichols’ film career was extensive, featuring in a variety of notable movies including *Carry On Doctor*, *Ladies Who Do*, *The Holly and the Ivy*, *The Vikings*, *Help!* (the Beatles' film), *Georgy Girl*, *Doctor in Clover*, *The Birthday Party*, *The Bed Sitting Room*, *O Lucky Man!*, *Confessions of a Window Cleaner*, and *Britannia Hospital*, among others.
Following her rise to fame with *Till Death Us Do Part*, Nichols transitioned seamlessly into television, where she notably starred alongside Alastair Sim in William Trevor's adaptation of *The Generals Day*.
