John Pickard
Biography
John Pickard, born on November 2, 1977, in London, is a distinguished English actor renowned for his memorable roles in television. He gained widespread recognition for portraying David Porter in the beloved BBC sitcom *2point4 Children*. Additionally, he played Dominic Reilly, the brother of Tony Hutchinson—portrayed by his sibling Nick Pickard—in the popular Channel 4 series *Hollyoaks*.
Pickard honed his craft at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School, where he developed his passion for acting. His early career included a notable performance in the children's drama series *Grange Hill*, where he appeared as Neil Timpson during its 13th and 14th seasons from 1990 to 1991. In 1991, he secured the role of David Porter in *2point4 Children*, a series that enjoyed a successful run for eight seasons until 1999.
In 2005, Pickard joined the cast of *Hollyoaks*, where he continued to captivate audiences as Dominic Reilly until his departure in 2010. His versatility extends to audio dramas as well; in 2008, he was featured as Thomas Brewster, a companion to the Doctor in the *Doctor Who* audio series, beginning with *The Haunting of Thomas Brewster*. His work in this sphere led him to attend Gallifrey One, a prominent science fiction convention in Los Angeles, in February 2010.
