Jeannie Berlin, originally named Jeannie Brette May, was born on November 1, 1949. She is a distinguished American actress and screenwriter known for her work across film, television, and theater. Berlin is the daughter of renowned actress and director Elaine May. Her most recognized performance came in the 1972 comedy classic The Heartbreak Kid, a role that earned her nominations for both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actress category.
In 1975, she took on a leading role in Sheila Levine Is Dead and Living in New York. Throughout her career, Berlin has appeared in various films, including Margaret (2011), Inherent Vice (2014), Café Society (2016), The Fabelmans (2022), and You Hurt My Feelings (2023).
