Richard Romanus
Biography
Richard Romanus (February 28, 1943 - December 23, 2023) was a distinguished American actor known for his Lebanese heritage. He garnered attention for his notable performances, including his role in Martin Scorsese's iconic film *Mean Streets*. Romanus also lent his voice to memorable characters in Ralph Bakshi's animated works, *Wizards* and *Hey Good Lookin'*. He is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of Lorraine Bracco's ex-husband, and later her spouse once more, in three episodes of the acclaimed HBO series *The Sopranos*, which aired from 1999 to 2002.
Born in Barre, Vermont, Romanus was the son of Eileen (née Maloof) and Dr. Raymond Romanos. He grew up in a creative environment alongside his younger brother, Robert, who also pursued a career in acting. The two siblings made appearances together in several episodes of the popular television series *MacGyver* during the 1980s, showcasing their talent and versatility.
Throughout his career, Romanus left an indelible mark on both film and television, remembered for his unique contributions to the entertainment industry until his passing in December 2023.
