Virginia Elizabeth "Geena" Davis (born January 21, 1956) is a multifaceted American actress, film producer, writer, and former fashion model, as well as a semi-finalist on the women's Olympic archery team. She gained prominence for her performances in iconic films such as The Fly, Beetlejuice, Thelma & Louise, A League of Their Own, and The Accidental Tourist, the latter of which earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1988. In 2005, she received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for her portrayal in Commander in Chief. Davis has established a remarkable career in both film and television, showcasing her versatility and talent across various genres.
