Kate Garry Hudson, born on April 19, 1979, is a prominent American actress recognized for her significant contributions to film. She has garnered numerous awards, including a prestigious Golden Globe and a nomination for an Academy Award.

The daughter of musician Bill Hudson and actress Goldie Hawn, Kate made her cinematic debut in the 1998 drama Desert Blue. She subsequently took on supporting roles in various films before achieving widespread acclaim for her performance as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's 2000 musical drama Almost Famous. This role earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and an Oscar nomination in the same category.
