Biography

Philip Proctor, born on July 28, 1940, is a distinguished American actor and voice artist best known for his work with the Firesign Theatre. With a career spanning several decades, Proctor has lent his voice to a diverse array of projects, including video games, films, and television series.

As the most recognized member of the Firesign Theatre, Proctor began his artistic journey as a boy soprano, engaging extensively in musical theater. He played numerous roles in Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and later transitioned to Broadway, working alongside iconic figures such as composer Richard Rodgers. His early career allowed him to connect with notable personalities, including Henry Jaglom and Peter Fonda.

Proctor's television appearances include guest roles on shows like Daniel Boone, All in the Family, and Night Court. He was also part of the Off-Broadway musical The Amorous Flea in 1964. His extensive voice work includes roles like Meltdown in Treasure Planet and Howard Deville in Nickelodeon's Rugrats and All Grown Up!. He has contributed uncredited ADR overdubs for many films and provided voices for popular video games, including the Assassin's Creed series and Dead Rising.

In 2017, Proctor published his autobiography, *Where's My Fortune Cookie?*, co-written with Brad Schreiber. Recently, he has participated in the radio program American Parlor Songbook. Proctor continues to be a vibrant part of the voice acting landscape, contributing to various Disney animated features.
