Maurice Roëves
Biography
Maurice Roëves, a Scottish actor, was born on March 19, 1937, in Sunderland, County Durham (now part of Tyne and Wear). He is well-known for his extensive work on television, including notable appearances in *Danger UXB* (1979), *The Nightmare Man* (1981), and the iconic *Doctor Who* serial *The Caves of Androzani* (1984). His diverse television career also featured roles in *Days of our Lives* (1986), *Tutti Frutti* (1987), *Rab C. Nesbitt* (1990), *The New Statesman* (1990), *Spender* (1991), *Star Trek: The Next Generation*, and the BBC's adaptation of *Vanity Fair* (1998), as well as *EastEnders* (2003).
Roëves portrayed Chief Superintendent David Duckenfield in the 1996 film *Hillsborough*, depicting the tragic events of the FA Cup semi-final that resulted in the loss of 96 lives. In 2006, he played Sir Matt Busby in the BBC docudrama *Surviving Disasters*, which recounted
