Ki Joo-bong
Biography
Ki Joo-bong, born in 1955, is a prominent South Korean actor renowned for his contributions to both theater and film. He pursued his studies in film and theatre at Sorabol Art University, now integrated into Chung-Ang University.
Ki began his acting career in 1977 when he co-founded the theater company 76 with his brother, Ki Guk-seo, who is also an actor and stage director. Despite facing financial challenges early on, Ki's passion for the performing arts remained unwavering. However, after marrying and assuming the responsibilities of family life, he sought various jobs to provide for his loved ones, though he struggled to find success outside of acting.
Returning to the stage reignited his artistic spirit, and from the late 1990s onwards, Ki transitioned into film, further expanding his repertoire. Over the years, he has become a respected figure in the South Korean entertainment industry, celebrated for his versatility and dedication to his craft. Ki Joo-bong's journey illustrates the resilience of an artist committed to his passion despite the trials of life.
