David Banner
Biography
David Banner, born Lavell William Crump on April 11, 1974, is a multifaceted American rapper, music producer, and occasional actor, standing at 6'2". He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern University before furthering his education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he pursued a master's degree.
Banner initially made his mark in the music scene as part of the hip-hop duo Crooked Lettaz. He embarked on a solo career in 2000, debuting with the album *Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1*. His career took a significant turn in 2003 when he signed with Universal Records, leading to the release of several successful albums, including *Mississippi: The Album* and *MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water*, both also released in 2003, followed by *Certified* in 2005 and *The Greatest Story Ever Told* in 2008.
In addition to his solo work, Banner has made a name for himself as a talented producer. He has created tracks for well-known artists such as Trick Daddy, T.I., Lil Boosie, and Lil Wayne, showcasing his versatility within the industry. In recent years, he has expanded his reach by launching *The David Banner Podcast*, where he engages in discussions on various topics, further solidifying his influence in both music and media.
