Farida Jalal (originally Farida Sami; born on March 14, 1949) is a prominent Indian actress known for her contributions to Hindi cinema and television. With a career that has spanned nearly fifty years, she has appeared in over 200 films and garnered several prestigious awards, including four Filmfare Awards, two awards from the Bengal Film Journalists Association, a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance, and the Best Actress Award at the 2012 Harlem International Film Festival.

Jalal commenced her film career as a teenager and quickly made a name for herself, taking on both leading and supporting roles in a multitude of films throughout the 1970s and early 1980s.
