Biography
Lloyd Vernet "Beau" Bridges, born on December 9, 1941, is a distinguished American actor and director with a prolific career spanning several decades. He has garnered numerous accolades, including three Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy Award, along with nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In recognition of his significant contributions to television, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 7, 2003. Beau hails from a family of actors; he is the son of Lloyd Bridges and the older brother of Jeff Bridges.
His acting journey began at a young age, with uncredited appearances in films like Force of Evil and No Minor Vices in 1948, followed by a role in The Red Pony in 1949. During the 1962-1963 TV season, he appeared alongside his brother in The Lloyd Bridges Show and featured in various popular series, including National Velvet and The Fugitive. Notable films from his early career include The Landlord and Norma Rae.
In 1989, Beau gained notable fame for his role in The Fabulous Baker Boys. He later starred in the series Maximum Bob and had a recurring role in Beggars and Choosers. His television appearances continued with memorable guest roles in Will & Grace, My Name Is Earl, and Desperate Housewives, for which he received Emmy nominations. His recent work includes a significant role in The Millers and appearances in films like Underdog Kids and Lawless Range, along with guest spots on Masters of Sex and Code Black.
