Biography

Henri Guybet, born on December 21, 1936, is a notable French actor who has featured in over a hundred films since his career took off in 1964.

Guybet began his artistic journey in the late 1960s, performing in dinner theater at the Café de la Gare alongside well-known figures such as Coluche and Miou-Miou. His first significant role in film came from director Gérard Oury in the comedy "The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob," where he portrayed Solomon, the Jewish chauffeur to the character played by Louis de Funès. His comedic prowess further shone through in "Pas de Problème," directed by Georges Lautner.

In 1978, Guybet secured a leading role in "The Pawn," where he enacted the character of Bertrand Barabi, a pawnshop owner who falls in love with the mother of one of his students, played by Claude Jade. This marked his only romantic lead in a film. Throughout the late 1970s, he took part in various low-budget films, earning a reputation for his supporting roles. Additionally, Guybet made a significant mark in the world of theater, establishing himself as a prominent figure in boulevard theater.

His legacy continues through his son, who also chose to pursue a career in acting.
