Stephen Lang
Biography
Stephen Lang, born on July 11, 1952, is a distinguished American actor and playwright whose career spans both theatre and film. He launched his journey in the world of acting on Broadway, where he honed his craft. Lang gained widespread recognition for his compelling performances in historical films, notably as Stonewall Jackson in *Gods and Generals* (2003) and George Pickett in *Gettysburg* (1993). His versatility is further showcased in his memorable roles as Colonel Miles Quaritch in James Cameron's groundbreaking film *Avatar* (2009) and Texan lawman Charles Winstead in *Public Enemies* (2009).
In addition to his film career, Lang served as co-artistic director of the prestigious Actor's Studio in New York City from 2004 to 2006, alongside notable figures Carlin Glynn and Lee Grant. This position allowed him to contribute to the development of new talent and the preservation of the craft of acting.
