Scott Wilson (March 29, 1942 – October 6, 2018) was a renowned American actor whose career spanned nearly five decades in film and television. With over 50 film credits from the 1960s through the 2010s, Wilson showcased his versatile talent in iconic films such as "In the Heat of the Night," "In Cold Blood," "The Great Gatsby," "Dead Man Walking," "Pearl Harbor," and "Junebug." His performance in "The Ninth Configuration" earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture in 1980.
From 2011 to 2013, Wilson captivated audiences as Hershel Greene, the compassionate veterinarian and patriarch of the Greene family, on the critically acclaimed AMC series, "The Walking Dead." He also gained widespread recognition for his memorable recurring role as Sam Braun, the casino mogul and father of investigator Catherine Willows, on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
