Biography

Melanie Janine Brown MBE, widely recognized as Mel B, was born on May 29, 1975. This English singer, songwriter, and television personality gained immense popularity in the 1990s as a key member of the iconic girl group, the Spice Girls, where she was affectionately known as Scary Spice. The Spice Girls achieved monumental success, selling over 100 million records globally, making them the best-selling female group in history.

Transitioning from music to television, Mel B has made a name for herself as a dynamic talent show judge since 2007. She showcased her dancing skills in the fifth season of the American competition series, Dancing with the Stars, in 2007. From 2011 to 2016, she took on roles as both a guest and main judge on The X Factor in Australia and the UK. Additionally, she co-hosted the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars for one season in 2012. Her judging prowess continued on NBC's America's Got Talent from 2013 to 2018, and she served as a coach on The Voice Kids Australia in 2014. Most recently, in 2022, she appeared as a judge on The Masked Singer Australia and co-hosted Lip Sync Battle UK alongside rapper Professor Green from 2016 to 2018, further solidifying her status in the entertainment industry.
