Dennis Lipscomb
Biography
Dennis Lipscomb (born March 1, 1942, passed away July 30, 2014) was a notable American actor whose career spanned several decades.
Lipscomb made his film debut in Union City, released in 1980. Throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s, he secured significant roles in a variety of notable films, including Love Child (1982), WarGames (1983), and Eyes of Fire (1983). He also appeared in high-impact projects such as The Day After (1983), A Soldier's Story (1984), and Crossroads (1986). His filmography continued to expand with performances in Amazing Grace and Chuck (1987), Retribution (1987), Sister, Sister (1987), The First Power (1990), and Under Siege (1992). In addition to his film work, Lipscomb portrayed the recurring character of the mayor in the first season of the television series In the Heat of the Night (1988), set in the fictional town of Sparta, Mississippi.
In the latter part of his career, he made guest appearances on several television shows and commercials, including WKRP in Cincinnati, T.J. Hooker, and Wiseguy (1987), where he played the character Sid Royce/Elvis Prim. To younger viewers, he is often recognized for his role as DCI Peter Sterling in the video game Spycraft: The Great Game.
