Biography
LisaGay Hamilton, born on March 25, 1964, is an accomplished American actress celebrated for her impactful roles in film, television, and theater. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of attorney Rebecca Washington in the acclaimed ABC legal drama, The Practice. Hamilton's performance as young Sethe in Jonathan Demme's film adaptation of Toni Morrison's powerful novel, Beloved, showcased her exceptional talent and earned her critical acclaim.
In addition to her screen work, Hamilton has made significant contributions to the stage. Her theater credits include notable performances in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, where she took on the role of Isabella, and Henry IV Parts I & II as Lady Hotspur. She has also starred in Athol Fugard’s Valley Song and the haunting drama The Ohio State Murders.
