Biography
Margo, born María Marguerita Guadalupe Teresa Estela Bolado on May 10, 1917, in Mexico City, was a talented Mexican actress and dancer whose career spanned several decades in American film and television. She is often recognized for her contributions to the entertainment industry under the name Margo Albert.
Throughout her career, she held significant roles in a number of prominent films, including her performances in "Lost Horizon" (1937), "The Leopard Man" (1943), "Viva Zapata!" (1952), and "I'll Cry Tomorrow" (1955). While she often took on smaller parts, her talent shone brightly in these notable works, earning her a place in cinematic history.
In her personal life, Margo was married to actor Francis Lederer from 1937 until their divorce in 1940. She later wed actor Eddie Albert on December 5, 1945, and the couple remained together until her passing from brain cancer on July 17, 1985. Together, they welcomed a son, Edward Albert, who also pursued a career in acting. Additionally, Margo was related by marriage to the famous bandleader Xavier Cugat, through his first wife, Carmen Castillo. Margo's legacy endures through her impactful performances and the talented family she nurtured.
