Suga
Biography
Min Yoon-gi, professionally recognized as SUGA and Agust D, was born on March 9, 1993, in South Korea. He is a prominent rapper, songwriter, and record producer affiliated with BigHit Music, and is a vital member of the globally acclaimed boy band BTS.
SUGA launched his solo career with the mixtape Agust D in 2016, which saw a re-release in 2018, achieving notable success by reaching number three on the Billboard World Albums Chart. His follow-up mixtape, D-2, debuted in 2020 and made a significant impact on charts, landing at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 and number two on Australia's ARIA Album Chart. In 2023, SUGA released his first solo album, D-Day, which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, marking him as one of the highest-charting South Korean solo artists alongside BTS member Jimin.
Throughout his career, SUGA has lent his songwriting and production talents to over 150 tracks, including Suran's hit "Wine," which secured the number two spot on the Gaon Music Chart and earned the Best R&B award at the 2017 Melon Music Awards. In recognition of his contributions to the music industry, he became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in 2018. That same year, he, alongside his BTS bandmates, received the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit from the South Korean President for their significant contributions to the nation's cultural landscape.
